Getting Some Sunshine

A happy cow.

We’re finally getting a break from the rain, and just in time too. I’m beginning to feel like I should grow gills or webs. We’ve had more rain than normal - three times the amount we’d gotten by this time last year. So we got out of the house early yesterday morning and headed to Point Reyes National Seashore. It’s as pretty a place as you could imagine, and the weather is surprisingly warm, given that it’s on the northern California coast and our beaches are not so sunny.

We had breakfast in Point Reyes Station at the Bovine Bakery - a bran muffin and chai tea – and then drove to Drakes Beach where we watched huge waves crash onto the shore, saw magnificent Tule Elk (see photo here), and scratched the foreheads of cows who seemed as happy to see the sun as we were.

I'm glad things have dried off a bit, and you're getting your sunshine back.

We haven't seen the sun here in over a week. I'm headed back to Florida at the end of the week to soak up some vitamin D :)

Winter has not been kind to us here, either, but today we have sunshine!

I clicked through on your link to Point Reyes and it look gorgeous (such a view of the Pacific!). I'm sure you had a delightful day.

The video just cracked me up. I remember when The Silver Platters sang it on The Brady Bunch. Thanks for a smile to start my day :)

A little sunshine goes a long way in lifting the spirit. I clicked the link too, and the photo of that light house is beautiful. Who doesn't love a light house?

Love the photo of the happy cow and the commercial. We were just talking about those commercials the other day. So funny.
